About the On-line Manuals
Introduction
The on-line manuals are in an HTML format and contain three guides, two
sets of appendix notes and a glossary.
- Installer's guide — this manual.
- Administrator's guide
— includes X.25, LAPB,
Frame Relay
and raw synchronous configurations diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Programmer's guide
— includes a description of the protocol library that provides
interfaces available to application developers.
- Utilities
— are UNIX-style manuals describing the usage of the various
utilities and configuration files.
- Glossary
The guides also contain information on obtaining
technical support via telephone, fax,
e-mail, ftp or The Software Group web site.
The guides are written for:
- a system administrator
- a person writing programs that use WAN communications APIs
- a person using the applications that TSG provides
The Software Group's technical support strongly recommend that you
take a few moments to install the on-line manuals and browse through
them.
Documentation Location
The manuals can be viewed with the a standard HTML browser. You do not
need to install the on-line manuals to view them. There are four ways to
view the manuals:
- Install the manuals during the
Wanware installation. To access these manuals browse to
/usr/share/doc/wanware*/index.htm
- Use the RPM to install the documentation on any Linux machine. The RPM
is found in this directory on the CD-ROM;

To access these manuals browse to
/usr/share/doc/wanware*/index.htm
- Copy the documentation directory (docs) from the CD-ROM to any computer
with a browser.
- View the manuals directly from the CD-ROM (docs/index.htm).
