Configure Serial Ports

The serial port(s) on the SyncSwitch 1000 need to be configured appropriately to match the attached device.

Serial Protocol

The SyncSwitch 1000 supports a number of different protocols on the serial port(s).

To set the serial protocols:

Select Serial Protocols from the left-hand navigation.
Select the Protocol from the drop-down list. Only those protocols supported by your SyncSwitch 1000 will be offered.
Click Set Protocols.
Reboot the SyncSwitch 1000 to complete the change. You should do this before continuing on with further configuration.

Link Configuration

The configuration for each available serial link can be changed. The defaults shipped on SyncSwitch 1000 are a basic starting place. See X.25/LAPB Link Configuration or Raw Synchronous Link Configuration in the Administrator's Guide for a more detailed definition of all the parameters that can be changed.
