Initial Configuration
This section contains a brief overview of the steps taken to configure
SyncServer to operate on your network.
Note: These options are not enabled unless you are
logged in as the 'admin' user. For 'stats' users, these options are
disabled.
Browse to SyncServer
The SyncServer configuration parameters are controlled with a browser.
For your machine to be able to browse to the SyncServer, ensure that:
- Your machine is physically connected to the same network as the SyncServer
- Your machine has an IP address alias for the same
network as the default IP of the SyncServer, which is
192.168.254.254.
Change admin Password
- Point your browser to IP address
http://192.168.254.254
- Log in as user name "admin" and password "admin".
- Select System Configuration from the left-hand
navigation.
- Scroll down the page to the "Web Administrators Authentication" section.
- Type in a new password and confirm that password
- Select Apply at the bottom of the "Web Administrators
Authentication" section.
Change IP Address of SyncServer
- Scroll up to the "Networking" section.
- Change the IP Address to a local address on your LAN.
- Define the Network Mask and Gateway.
- Select Apply in the "Networking" section.
- When the interface finishes applying the changes it will ask you to
reboot. Select the Reboot System link from the
left-hand navigation. It will take approximately one minute for the
SyncServer to reboot.
- Point your browser to the new IP address.
- Log in as user name "admin" with admin password.
