PAD Mapping
This topic is only applicable to a SyncServer with the serial protocol
set to X.25. If you are using a different protocol, follow the links above
to continue on to install the client software or return to the index.
The SyncServer has a built in terminal PAD (Packet Assembler/Disassembler).
Using the PAD, you can establish a telnet session to the SyncServer and
have it establish a PAD connection to a host through the serial port.
Add Mappings
If you wish to configure PAD mappings:
- Select PAD Mapping from the left-hand navigation.
- In the Add PAD Mapping table add the port number you will
connect to with your telnet session.
- Type in the X.25 address of the host you wish call. If you require
flexibility, enter none for the X.25 address and you will be
prompted for the X.25 address to call when each telnet session is
established.
- Type in the netid (serial port number) that the PAD call should be
sent out on.
- Click Add. The new mappings will be added to the
the Telnet to X.25 PAD Mappings table.
- Repeat this procedure for every different X.25 address and link
number required.
Edit Mappings
- To delete a PAD mapping, select the check box of the TCP port #
to be deleted and click Apply.
- To edit a PAD mapping, make all required changes to the
TCP port #, X.25 address or Netid and
click Apply.
