X.25 and LAPB Link Configuration

Introduction

Link configuration is the process of defining the protocol parameters for links. Although most protocol parameters can safely be left as default values, some values, such as the number of logical channels, have to be changed for every installation.

The Software Group provides a browser-based interface to configure links. Link configuration parameters can only be changed by the "admin" user. The "stats" user can examine the parameters configuration but cannot change them.

Using the Web Interface

Point a browser to http://IPaddress (where 'IPaddress' is the IP address assigned to the SyncServer 1000) and log in as User ID "admin".
Select Link Configuration in the left-hand navigation.
Click the Go button.
To change a parameter select or type in a new value in the Value column.

After making all necessary changes, scroll to the bottom of the table and select Update Configuration.

Virtual Circuits (for X.25 links only)
Counters
Timers
Packet Level Timers (for X.25 links only)

Each parameter listing in the tables is accompanied by its current setting as well as its range of valid values, the default setting (in bold) and a short description of the parameter. For more details, you can click on the parameter name or see the complete list of parameters.
