Parameter |
Description |
|
connect_string |
This field only applies to Hayes-AT compatible modems. If this field is included, the link will be considered established only after the string specified has been received from the modem. It is not necessary to specify the entire connect string, the first 4 or 5 characters may suffice. Up to 20 non-white characters may be specified, and octal format may be used to specify white characters or "#". For example, CONNECT\0409600 tests for a 9600 bps connection. The \040 is an octal representation of the space character " " occasionally found in this string. |
|
dial_string |
This field specifies the phone number to be dialed when calls are made. For CCITT V.25bis dialing, the telephone number must be all digits, and may be up to 80 characters long. Some V.25bis modems allow selection of tone or pulse dialing by preceding the telephone number with a T or P indicating how to dial. For Hayes-AT compatible modems, up to 80 non-white characters may be specified, and octal format may be used to specify white characters or "#". The entire AT command string should appear here. |
|
init_string |
This field only applies to Hayes-AT compatible modems. This string is used to initially configure the asynchronous modem, once the board has been loaded. The init string will only be sent once, regardless of how many times the modem is dialed. Up to 80 non-white characters may be specified, and octal format may be used to even specify white characters or "#". |
